My Life Interrupted
As most of you know, the month of June had a very low point as one of my closest friends lost her battle with breast cancer.
Almost immediately I went into the high that is all things #BlogPaws and had a wonderful time seeing old friends, meeting new ones, finding brands I’m really looking forward to working with and learning! I promise there will be more recaps including a top 10 list. I came back with my head swimming with new ideas and a new GoPro I won while I was there (keep an eye out as I promise there will be more to read about).
However, in the last week since BlogPaws my family and I have had a very tough time and I feel like I’m living a life that has been interrupted.
My father has been having mini strokes since last Saturday. Yes, calculations are correct, I was still at BlogPaws. I didn’t learn anything until Wednesday. Thank goodness my sister was home to help sort everything out. Denton and I left on Friday to spend the weekend with my family. Saturday he had more symptoms, he was airlifted by my sister’s amazing air transport company Reach Air to Mercy San Juan Hospital and tomorrow will undergo a Carotid Endarterectomy. This is a common but risky surgery to open and clean the carotid artery in order to help with stroke prevention. I’ve included some photos of his/our recent journey and promise to return for an update.
In the meantime, please forgive my absence. Fingers & Paws Crossed and Prayers up for a successful surgery tomorrow, July 4, 2016.
How scary. Hope all is well! And I’m so sorry to hear that your friend lost her cancer battle. It seems like cancer takes all the best people (and pets). It’s so unfair. I’m so so sorry!
Thanks Jackie. Dad is definitely doing better and I miss Suz every day. I don’t think there is anyone out there anymore that the CA hasn’t touched and you are right it does take the best people (and pets)…..
