Wordless Wednesday: Harley’s Story, Soroptimist & JDRF
We (Shasta, Dog Dad & I) took my children’s picture book Harley’s Story on the road over the last few weeks.
Our 1st stop was the Soroptimist Home & Garden Show in Chico, CA March 19 & 20, 2016
We were able to see an amazing demonstration of Chico PD’s K9 unit.
This last weekend we were in Fresno for the
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Charity Walk
See the kid’s warming up for the walk to “Whipping Nae Nae”

Great blog it looks like you are doing great work.
Sounds like a lot of fun pawsome times!
How exciting to be on a book tour! I didn’t know about your book, but am going to purchase it right now! By the way, I have been emailing with Kim and Faith will be featured soon. Thanks for connecting us!
I’m so excited I was able to help make the connection! I definitely love your blog & “The Specials” series! I just realized I didn’t put the link into this post but you can get an autographed copy directly on my web site 😉
Looks like you had quite the adventure! I would love to see a K9 demonstration some day.
Keep up the good work, M&D are so proud of all of you for what you do for animals AND people! Really liked your visit to Chico, and us 🙂
MUM
Looks like a great adventure!
Sounds brilliant!
Hi Denise. Nice to meet you. I have never seen your website before, and I was interested to see that we both live in northern California. I live in the San Francisco east bay area. I was also interested in learning more about your book. I tried to read the first 10% of your book on your book’s Amazon page, but it only showed the cover and copyright page in the preview.
We are not too far away and will have to try to meet IRL sometime. I went to Amazon to check it out and it looks like if you are on the Kindle version it only lets you see the copyright and cover but if you look at the paperback you can see more. Now I know too so thanks! 😉
What a great adventure 🙂
Sounds like you are having fun on the road! I’ll check out your book.
We’d love to hear what you think.
How wonderful you went on a book tour! We have been working on a few book projects for a while. My goodness it takes a long time! Congrats on getting yours done! Great job! I must read it!
What kind of books are you all working on? We LOVE to read around here!!
Looks like you had a great weekend full of fun! 🙂
We really are having a great time!
Who did the adorable illustration on the cover of your book? Love!
It’s actually a photograph of our dog Harley who tells his story in the book. I actually used all pictures of him instead of illustrations for this book. 😉
What a great adventure!
🙂
I love that the story brings attention and awareness to rescuing a dog with special needs. Congrats to you on your book tour!
Thanks so much!
Looks like you had some fun. I was lucky enough to see a K9 demonstration a couple of years ago. So awesome.
They are so amazing! I’m lucky since the Hanford PD K9 agility/training course is right outside my Nurse Practitioner office window too.
Sounds like a busy and productive time, I hope it has been a lot of fun as well.
It’s truly fun! Fitting it around my full time job is the hardest part.
Book tours are so much fun and you get to really see a lot of people! How exciting!
We are having a lot of fun! I hadn’t been able to do many signings in the last 8 months as we’d just moved into the area so I’m really enjoying getting back out there!
Looks like a great book and fun activities
Looks like a wonderful book. I used to collect children’s books when I was a teacher. I recently gave them to a new teacher when I retired from teaching.
I’ve really grown my picture book collection in the last few years and I don’t have kids or teach. 😉
I love that you did this for kids and that dogs are involved. Such a wonderful way to teach lessons and love of animals, too.
Congrats on your book tour! Love the cover. Harley has a very sweet face.
What a great tour of adventure for you! It’s wonderful that you are teaching kids about special needs, respect and kindness.
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
