We spent Christmas with Denton’s family in Oregon.
Games are a given, the Settlers of Catan tournament is a yearly event.
There is an opening ceremony, a trophy and a plaque updated each year with that years winners name.
Being with family is so relaxing and fun!!
This year we were also blessed with Steve, Aya and Mei being able to join us from Japan!
We also went to visit the Moyer house, a historical landmark in Brownsville. Aunt Kathy is involved in the restoration.
What are the Holiday traditions of your family?
Very similar! Ha! It was do good to see you all. I also love getting to spend time on some of the family properties. This year’s highlight was marking out trails on either side of the river by the turtle ponds being restored to riparian habitat.
Plus veggie patties!!
LOL, yeah I guess your family traditions would definitely be similar! I’m the outlaw who joined your families traditions!! 🙂
Also, I can’t stop thinking about the staircase, ceiling painting in the dining room, and the kitchen of the Moyer house. What gorgeous workmanship back then.
It’s amazing that they brought in an Italian painter to make the ceiling frescoes. The home is beautiful!
What a great holiday with family & friends!
I can’t believe I grew up there…& never went to the Moyer house until this weekend.
